Last Week in Review….

our garlic in late March

Weather & Precipitation Summary: Plenty of rain and a high of 70 and low down to 29 highlighted our week.

We Planted:
1. ground cherries, purple tomatillos, 800 more heirloom tomatoes, and sweet peppers in the greenhouse- as well as transplanting  4 kinds of basil and  red amaranth

2. in the fields we planted collards, mustard greens, turnips for greens as well as roots; beets (golden and red), arugula, chives, cilantro, parsley, chard, 4 varieties of carrots (atomic red, dragon, purple haze and yaya); more sald mix: “oriental greens”, many more radish, and approx. 1600 red onions!

Not bad for a rainy week!

We Tended:
1. our more than 7000 seedlings in the greenhouse
2. weeds!
3. garlic
4. clearing out our walking paths

We Harvested:
1. Nothing yet… unless you count the weeds!

We prepped and planted  beds!!!

We used the following new infrastructure, tools or supplies:
1. our wonderful blue barrels for water–made life so much easier–thanks Steve!
2. our new johnny’s furrow maker to mark rows for seeding

Celebrations & Special Memories:
* Every work crew is amazing and we are far ahead of where I expected us to be: We have gotten at least 1 sowing of all of our spring crops planted–except for potatoes, which will arrive today!
* Lots of germination!!!
