EarthDance provides a unique volunteer environment for schools, community and corporate groups, and individuals. Volunteer opportunities range from planting and harvesting fresh vegetables, to campus construction projects, to general farm maintenance. Join us as we grow the Local Food Movement!
To help connect you with Team EarthDance and the work of the farm, we invite first-time farm & orchard volunteers to attend an orientation. Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older, and orientation is required for everyone who wants to contribute in the field, orchard, or harvest house.
The volunteer orientation season is complete for 2024. 2025 Volunteer orientations will be offered once a month March through September 2025.
We welcome groups of all ages to the farm, but individual field and harvest shift volunteer work is restricted to ages 14 and up.
Our regular field volunteer shifts take place from April-October on the following days:
Got something else in mind? Let us know if you want to donate a particular skill or passion! We’re always looking for volunteers to help in our office and with farm maintenance, landscaping, and carpentry, and even if you don’t know about the subject yet you can go to Washington carpentry schools and learn everything you need for these projects. EarthDance is an approved site for Missouri Master Gardeners to fulfill their volunteer service hour requirement.
Please let us know if you have non-farm and garden skills and time to share with us by emailing Outreach & Volunteer Coordinator Alisha Harris via email at alisha@earthdancefarms.org. And please get in touch of any of the following sounds like you:
Contact volunteer@earthdancefarms.org to inquire about opportunities.
Hoppy Hour is a great way to get your hands dirty at the farm for the first time and to introduce new people to soil time at EarthDance!
Join us monthly for a fun & satisfying evening of pulling hop vine and drinking local craft beer by Earthbound Beer, along with refreshing, non-alcoholic sips!
What are we weeding? Wild hop vine, an invasive that has spread in a few of the fields at EarthDance. What are we drinking? Craft beer from some of St. Louis’ best craft breweries and cold, sparkling n/a beverages. Bring work clothes as hop vine can scratch skin – pants, long-sleeved shirt, closed-toe shoes. And gloves if you got ’em!
This event is open to all. It’s a perfect occasion to introduce your friends to EarthDance or share the farm with your friends & family! Can’t wait to see you out at the farm!
From weeding to harvesting and all sorts of farm projects in between, volunteering with a group at EarthDance is a great way to learn more about where your food comes from while helping feed your community. We accept groups ages 14 years+ and ask for a minimum of 10 volunteers and a maximum of 30 total volunteers in your group.
In order to provide top-notch service learning opportunities for diverse groups, EarthDance requests that volunteer groups with the means to do so make a suggested donation of $500 to EarthDance. Your support of our Organic Farm School enables EarthDance to provide farm-based learning for individuals of all walks of life, make our food available and accessible to our Ferguson-area neighbors, and partner with numerous other community groups to make the farm a welcoming destination for all. EarthDance is incredibly people-powered, and every donation makes it more possible to pay and grow the team that makes it all possible.
If your group is unable to provide financial support, we remain grateful for your contribution of time and talent!
There are many ways to help advance our mission! From spreading the word on social media, to hosting or attending a fundraising event, to helping plant and harvest produce, your support goes a long way.
Please fill out this form to inquire about group volunteer opportunities.
