Jess Coffin is the Program & Marketing Coordinator for EarthDance. Jess’ role evolved to a full time position after they spent 2022 at EarthDance as the Americorps Farm Storytelling VISTA. In that role, they helped to cultivate and share stories in connection with the people and work of EarthDance.
Jess grew up mostly in St. Louis and worked for some years as a photojournalist in rural Missouri, then in New England, before moving back to St. Louis in 2004. They became a birth nurse in 2007. Over the next 13 years, they helped many people give birth and found their favorite nursing work in collaborating to improve care practices in the interest of health equity.
They first came to EarthDance as a volunteer in Fall 2021. Jess was struck by the effects on their own wellbeing of working with the soil & plants on this land, of finding connection with the kind people and work of the farm school, and heeded the pull to just keep showing up.
Since then, Jess continues to be drawn to the land’s beauty and bounty and to the kindness, wisdom, and meaningful work of the people here. As Program & Marketing Coordinator, their goal is to help people to connect with EarthDance in the ways that feel best for them.
