Dani Fuhrman is the EarthDance Garden & Volunteer Coordinator. She comes to this role having a full circle
experience with EarthDance, after volunteering in the fall of 2023. She then went on to complete the full-season apprenticeship program in 2024. In the coordinator role, she hopes to provide an opportunity for meaningful connection to this work and the land, while cultivating community and having lots of fun!
Dani grew up in the St. Louis Metro East and has been a St. Louis city resident since 2008. They spent most of their career as a hair stylist and entrepreneur. From 2001-2019, Dani had a salon and art gallery in the historic Cherokee Antique Row, where they had some of their first experiences with building community through supporting local artists and participating in neighborhood events. These experiences helped set the foundation for their future work, including relationship-building and helping them learn to tap into their creativity.
Dani has always enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, and conscious living practices. In 2022, after attending a “life changing” natural building workshop at Dancing Rabbit Eco Village, she decided to take a big leap and leave her career to pursue work in the green industry and a degree in horticulture. Since early 2023 she has worked in ecological landscaping and, through her EarthDance apprenticeship, in regenerative organic farming.
Through her experience at EarthDance, Dani realized that her path needs to be rooted in community-centered food justice work. She hopes to build fruitful and lasting relationships with volunteers and beautify the farm’s garden spaces. Dani is passionate about spreading the message of empowerment through growing your own food, as well as sharing the healing powers of developing a reciprocal relationship with the soil and all life’s beings.
