Living Food & Worm Bins

Green HomesFantastic weather and fall color were good incentives to visit the Missouri Botanical Garden’s Green Homes, Great Health Festival on Sept. 24th. EarthDance staff members Rachel Levi and Matt Lebon represented EarthDance at the event, and both participated in the day’s “Presentations to the People” series.

Rachel spoke about preserving the harvest through fermentation, and shared some homemade purple sauerkraut with the crowd; Matt Lebon demonstrated a quick and easy way to build a home worm-composting bin. EarthDance also had a booth at the event where passers-by could “ask a farmer,” learn more about EarthDance, and purchase some of the season’s bountiful squash, sweet potatoes, peppers or tomatoes.

Other attractions at the fest included healthy street food from Lulu’s Local Food Truck, visits with many local environmental organizations and green merchants, and the opportunity to add to a moving mural painted on both sides of a Metro Bus! Many thanks to MOBOT for including EarthDance in the festival.
