EarthDance welcomes STLCCU- Flo Valley Dietetics Intern Mandi Kowalski!

Mandi grew up in Illinois surrounded by farms, but didn’t begin actively growing  food until moving to St. Louis for college. It was her experiences while studying abroad in the UK and backpacking throughout Europe that sparked her love of all things food related; sampling various ethnic cuisines, engaging in market cultures, learning traditional cooking methods, and observing diverse agricultural practices. She received her BA in Sociology from The University of Missouri- St. Louis, and thereafter became invested in working to feed and educate underserved populations in St. Louis by volunteering with Food Outreach and Operation Food Search. She is currently a student in the Dietetics Program at neighboring STLCC- Florissant Valley, engaging in research about the connection between access to healthy food and education outcomes.
