Field Trips

Outdoor learning is a great way for students to explore the natural environment and learn about sustainability. EarthDance hosts field trips April – October. There’s a $10/person fee (minimum $100 if less than 10 attendees). Available dates and times vary and depend on staff availability, but generally groups are welcome on Tuesdays and Friday mornings between 9am – 4pm.Generally, the tour lasts about an hour and consists of looking at and learning about different types of sustainable gardens at EarthDance; rain garden, herb garden, “7-Generations” garden. Students also tour the production fields and talk about local small scale organic farming and how it differs from big agriculture monocrops. Participants learn about the Pay What You Can Farm Stand and how it aids in food justice. We visit the greenhouse and harvest house so that students get a sense of how the packing process works before the food makes it to restaurants, markets, our Pay What You Can Farm Stand and ultimately the plate.*Field trip hosts will make every effort to personalize your field trip by incorporating classroom curriculum that students are learning around the time of the field trip as long as that information is provided ahead of time.
