George Fujii became involved with EarthDance as a volunteer helping with the planning and construction of the Harvest House. He was very impressed with EarthDance’s community outreach programs such as their own Junior Farm Crew program, the Work Experience Program (sponsored by Ferguson Florissant Special School District), and the partnership with OASIS, an organization that serves the health of adults 50+. This type of outreach coupled with the healthy food & education component made, according to him “very happy to jump in & help out in any way I could!”
He is licensed architect who has been involved with the design & construction industry for over 25 years, of which 18 have been in the construction management portion His projects have been for clients such as BJC, Washington University, Monsanto, Pfizer, General Services Administration, etc… George attended Stanford University where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Urban Planning, and went on to the University of Oregon where he received his Master of Architecture Degree.
George has previously served on the board of the local US Green Building Council where he served as Board Chair and head of the Governance Committee. He was also a Board Member at the Wilson School where his two children attended Elementary School, as well as his Neighborhood Council in the Parkview subdivision in University City.
His focus will be on continuing to help EarthDance develop & implement their facilities master plan. This in turn he hopes will help the organization grow & prosper, and continue to further the vision of “producing healthy food, the education of multiple generations, and the engagement of local communities”.
