As October (& Farm to School Month!) comes to a close, we are proud and grateful to share some of what our Farm to School Program has looked like in 2023, plus share ways educators, families, and students can continue to connect with farm to school during the colder months.
Farm to School (F2S) Educator, Joia Walker has engaged with Ferguson-Florissant students and families during the back to school fair, curriculum nights, field trips, garden work days, “What’s Fresh” health-focused cooking demonstrations, the AgriCulinary Internship, summer camp visits, and more. Together with Joia, our team has connected with 1,049 students, 72 teachers, and 54 district parents/guardians so far in 2023!
We are so grateful to be partnered with the Ferguson-Florissant School District (FFSD) for this programming. And our season of farm-based education doesn’t end with the fall harvest!
Educators, students, and families can connect with the farm throughout the seasons:
And, schedule a field trip! We welcome groups from any educational organization (not just Ferg-Flor) to tour the farm from April through October. It’s November, but you can already book for Spring field trips!
