Jena Hood, Class of 2018. Jena gets to help tend to the farm and the humans who dig in at EarthDance. When they found the apprenticeship after traveling and working on organic farms, they wanted to continue to cultivate a deeper understanding of food systems. But it was through their experience during the apprenticeship that they realized they were also cultivating relationships. Through the apprenticeship, they learned that healthy soil is healthy food is healthy humans is healthy community. They also learned that they belonged in this work. The apprenticeship helped them trust that they could take the leap into farming and teaching others to grow food as the next season of their life’s work.
