Jake Smith, Class of 2013. Jake discovered his green thumbs during his apprenticeship at EarthDance, and after first visiting the Seeds of Hope Community Farm in Spanish Lake, went on to work at and then manage the farm. After several years there, he is now embarking on a new urban farming project called South Side Farm in his hometown of Cape Girardeau, that’s focused on healthy food access and job opportunities. Jake says he definitely wouldn’t be farming today were it not for EarthDance.
