Mia Phutrakul

Class of 2024
Mia’s season at EarthDance transformed the way they think about food, community, and tending the land. Coming from a background in Environmental Engineering, they were eager to see how sustainable infrastructure and farming intersect. Some of Mia’s favorite memories include finding comically large zucchinis, sharing stories and laughter during harvest, and seeing the fulfillment in packing vegetables that would nourish the community. These experiences reminded them that food is more than sustenance; it fosters community and joy between people and the planet. Mia is grateful to the EarthDance community for teaching them that sustainable practices aren’t just technical solutions—they are acts of care, resilience, and connection. After their apprenticeship with EarthDance, Mia went on to finish their studies in New Zealand!
