Chelsea Burdge, Programs Coordinator, recruits for and coordinates the Farm & Garden Apprenticeship program. Chelsea also guides other EarthDance staff in coordinating various aspects of the Youth and Volunteer programming, grant writing, outreach events, and more. She is an Illinois native who always loved sinking her toes in the dirt of her mother’s gardens and hearing stories of her great grandmother’s farm. Chelsea served two years through AmeriCorps VISTA at EarthDance, has a certificate in Permaculture Design, and a B.S. in cultural anthropology and environmental science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville; she focused on the benefits of community gardening for inner city youth for her thesis. Chelsea is passionate about growing one’s own food, cooking, caring for the environment, social justice, education, and enjoying nature.
