EarthDance grows farmers by engaging individuals from all walks of life in sustainable agriculture. Whether you are an aspiring food entrepreneur or merely “agri-curious,” we believe that our food system needs YOU. Our educational programming enables young people, seniors, college students, corporate managers . . . (and maybe you?) to experience the wonder and reward of growing food. Help us harvest for a day, take a class on soil stewardship or jump-start your agrarian dreams as part of our Farm & Garden Apprenticeship.
A 5.5 month, part-time training program to educate aspiring farmers and gardeners in the skills of organic agriculture, from seed to market. Over 300 individuals have participated in the program since 2009.
EarthDance’s youth programs connect young people ages 5-21 to the natural world, healthy eating, and organic farming through farm-based job training, employment, and educational opportunities, including field trips for 800+ students annually.
Volunteerism at EarthDance enables individuals from all walks of life to experience the wonder and pragmatism of organic farming, and to lend a hand in the production of healthy food. Annually, 800+ volunteers keep the farm singing!
Offered most Tuesdays throughout the apprenticeship program, the public is welcome to join our apprentices for classes on topics ranging from permaculture design to soil stewardship to preserving the harvest.
Offered to individuals, schools, and organizations, tours demonstrate the value of sustainable agriculture on the health of our environment and bodies. Free tours are given May-October. EarthDance also hosts special events, including occasional farm dinners, yoga in the greenhouse, and more.
