Websites

What on Earth is Soil? The very basics, from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Soil Science Basics The title is bit misleading, in a good way.  This site has a lot of content, including sections on “Soil & The Environment,” “Soil & Society,” “Soil & Students,” and “Soil & Agriculture.”

University of Missouri’s Agricultural Extension Soil & Plant Analysis UM’s Extension service does soil and plant testing, and their page offers lots of helpful information and resources, such as directions on how to take a soil sample.
