Bret Hilling might look down on other farmers and gardeners—but only because the farm he manages is on a city rooftop. The Urban Harvest STL FOOD ROOF Farm is the first rooftop farm in St. Louis and produces an abundant amount of food for the community. With the education and skills he acquired through the Farm and Garden Apprenticeship Program, Brett became Farm Manager of FOOD ROOF Farm in 2017. Brett is thrilled that his position enables him to take action for greener cities and healthy futures.
