EarthDance graduates are growing the good food movement regionally and beyond!

Since 2009, more than 450 Farm & Garden Apprentices have come to EarthDance Organic Farm School to explore their farming dreams. EarthDance’s Farm and Garden Apprenticeship is the teaching farm’s flagship and longest running program. Since 2009, teaching people to grow food in a hands-on, community-based way has been at the heart of our work.

Farm & Garden Apprenticeship Graduate Outcomes:

    • 96.1% have continued growing food
    • 87% grew food to share with their families
    • 76% grew food to share with their community
    • 61% volunteered their time on other agricultural projects
    • 57% trained others in food production
    • 26% have earned income farming

We want to ensure that people from all walks of life have the opportunity to participate in such a transformative program like the Apprenticeship – in the last few years, we’ve made great strides to keep making the program as accessible as possible. Apprentices are now able to earn a wage while participating in the program, so it’s not only hands-on education, but a source of income and meaningful employment!

We are especially excited to plan to offer a year-long, full-time apprenticeship for the first time in EarthDance history – for those who are serious about exploring farming as a viable career. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to ensure you get updates.

EarthDance has sparked a pride and joy not felt since my childhood. There is something special about seeing life grow before your eyes, in which you had a part, either by preparing the bed, planting the seed, hoeing the weeds, or picking for a delicious dinner. Life’s lessons are learned by farming!” – Anna Gall, Class of 2011
